These Are a Few of My Favorite Things - Part Deux

I still get bummed out when I think about the loss of Alexander McQueen. He was such an amazingly talented man and one can only wonder what else he could have wowed us with, had he not left us so soon. To see more of his wonderfulness, check out http://blog.metmuseum.org/alexandermcqueen/about/ .

Jonathan Adler - Banana Bud Vase

This a 2 for 1 in my book. Pee Wee Herman AND Mr. T Cereal. Remember how good that was?

Printstagr.am mini photo albums. I have a slight obsession with all things mini.

This piece reminds me of one of my favorite movie quotes...
"Well, you know what they say: If you don't have anything nice to say about anybody, come sit by me."
-Clairee Belcher, Steel Magnolias

And my final favorite thing for this blog post is this heavenly looking cake from MarthaStewart.com. I would love to grab a fork and a giant glass of ice cold milk and go to town on this bad boy. It looks so dreamy.

Does a Zebra Have Stripes?

Hello, my name is Lora and I am addicted to stripes. There, I said it. It's been a lifelong problem, really. What can I say? Stripes make me happy and here is why...

The color palette, the fabric, the lighting and most of all the ceiling. Bravo, Ms. Tobi Fairley!

This room is so not my style and yet it is one of my favorite photos I've seen in weeks. Everything about this room works and screams awesome. Photo is from the book Litchfield Style: Classic Country Houses of Connecticut.

The way Windsor Smith creates stripes with the window treatments is just lovely.  The zebra stools are the perfect addition.

Subtle stripes by Tobi Fairley makes for such a relaxing kitchen. I mean seriously, I can see myself walking on that floor barefoot with an ice cold glass of lemonade in one hand and a trash mag in the other.

Yet another beauty by Tobi Fairley. Love the color, the mix of patterns... I think we may be kindred spirits.

This room by Adore Home makes me want to take a tropical vacation STAT! I can actually smell the Maui Babe now.

Now with all of that inspiration, go paint some stripes this weekend!

Old Fashioned Lemonade Stand Baby Shower

Big news here at CoCo... My little sister is going to be a mama! More importantly, I am going to be an auntie. I am beside myself with excitement. We're looking at about 6 more weeks until little man gets here and the time can't go fast enough.

I threw my sissy a baby shower a few weeks ago with some major help from my mom and her incredible sewing skills (I'm lucky if I can sew a button on). My sister isn't big on themes, so I pretty much had free reign with everything. If only my clients were that easy. I decided it was going to be an Old Fashioned Lemonade Stand.

Thanks to Kay Leavy Elliot and Carol Stoelting for the photos.
