Serving Up Style... It's BAAACK!

2011~Red Delicious
That's right, ladies and gents. It's that time of year when Team CoCo Designs puts their noses to the grindstone and starts dreaming up a crazy design plan for Serving Up Style. In case you live under a rock and have never heard of the one and only Serving Up Style, let me help you out. Here is a little tidbit from the website...

Molly’s Fund Fighting Lupus, along with the Portland Fall Home & Garden Show, invites you to join in the fight against lupus with Serving Up Style. Serving Up Style centers around a design competition and four day showcase at the Portland Expo Center. Each year, design teams are invited to create fantastic, whimsical, and stunning dining room environments. October 4th-7th.

2010~Molly in Wonderland

I'm now in year 3 and beyond excited to be competing again. Sure, it's more work than one can imagine and every year I curse myself for participating. But after all of the blood, sweat and tears, it's an experience I would never give up.

Not only is this event the most fun an interior designer can have, but it supports such a very important cause. Molly's Fund strives to educate the public and the medical community about lupus, to push for earlier, life-saving diagnoses for those afflicted, and to spur governments and foundations to fund research toward a cure.

If you don't come down and take a look in October, you're dumb.
Serving Up Style. Learn it. Know it. Do it.

One word... NEON

nLike clockwork, interior design trends are never far behind fashion. Open up the flood gates to the neon revolution. Personally, I love it. Clothes, nail polish, furnishings, accessories, bring it on. For others, I'm sure it's a smidge too much. Just remember, moderation is key if you want to incorporate a new trend without burning yourself or your wallet out.

Oh, and neon makes even the slightest tan look amazing. Just saying.

Lookout Chicago. CoCo is En Route!

THAT'S RIGHT, BABY! AS THIS POST GOES OUT, I AM ON THE PLANE
HEADING TO CHI-TOWN! ON THE COCO AGENDA...

1. Visit some of my favorite people in the whole wide world.

2. Work on a top secret project. Obviously, there will be no photos included. It wouldn't exactly be top secret if I did that, now would it?

3. Hit up NeoCon 2012.

4. Eat, drink and be merry.

Stay tuned for a future post with lots of pics and stories. I'll make sure and eat an Italian Beef for each and every one of you. Yummy.

Best in Show

Portland is probably the most dog friendly city in the country, which works out great for me. Sometimes I forget that not every city is like mine. So, it's nice to see so much dog-themed decor these days. Even if you can't have your own real live pet, you can at least have one in spirit (not to mention these kind of dogs don't shed).

These chairs on Interior Design Hound fantastic!

Just love this adorable little mini animal display by Sania Pell.

Osborne and Little put together two things I love in one
and created wallpaper. It's like Christmas.

I can't think of a better way to incorporate lighting into a room.

Anthropologie and Interior Devine show us how to get our dog art on.

Yes, I have an obsession with dachshunds, but it's also hard to find
decor in other breeds. Why, because they're adorable.
