For me personally, I could have an entire room covered in faux animal hide and be as happy as Dr. Dolittle at the zoo. I also know that I am on the extreme end of the animal print debate, but I say anyone can use at lease 1 or 2 pieces to jazz up their room and make it just a little more edgy. Nothing says sexy like a luxurious zebra print pillow or great smelling giraffe print candle. Just don’t go out and buy the entire bathroom set in cow print. Seriously, don’t.

Add some color and style to your walls
Feeling like changing up your wall color, but the thought of pulling out the drop cloths, rollers, pans and paint clothes makes you run screaming…? Your options for wall color are as limitless as your imagination. Yes, there are TONS of great colors out there and you can find pretty much any color you want. However, paint isn’t the only way to give your room life. My motto is, “If you can find a way to attach it to the wall, do it!”. I have used everything from the beautiful, velvet and metallic wallpapers, fabric, mailboxes, to a wall of frames. Let your imagination go wild!

2009 Color Forcast - Interior Design
Are you thinking about new colors and interior design for 2009? The color forecast for 2009 is being influenced by everything from street style and consumer electronics to botanical and mineral hues. According to Jackie Jordan, Director of color from Sherwin-Williams, those influences are converging in new and surprising ways, resulting in a complex, sophisticated palette. Here’s what you should be on the look-out for:
- Natural flower and root dyes
- Red and gold inspired by the Beijing Summer Olympics
- Raw, natural materials
- Mineral hues (Mother of Pearl, warm metallic shades)
- Sassy beige
- Violets and plums will continue their regal influence
- Deep blues
- Muddier more yellow based greens
- Warm grays
- Mock croc is the pattern to have this year
As always feel free to contact me with any color questions or design inquiries!
