25 Days of Christmas CoCo Style - Day 2: Christmas Trees

I love Christmas Trees. The holiday decor just doesn't look done until the tree is up and decorated. I'm a Noble Fir gal myself, but that doesn't mean I'm opposed to a more alternative version of the holiday favorite. Small apartments, allergies and pets are all reasons that the traditional tree may not work for some people. Or hey, maybe you just want to try out something different. I searched the interwebs and found a few for you.

I dream of a home during the holidays that look like these photos. I would totally change out furniture, drapes, artwork, rugs, whatever to create the warm feeling these have. It will be so. Oh yes, it will be so.

I've said it before, but the Home Alone set is the perfect example of a home being decorated to feel like Christmas. From the wallpaper and paint, to the rugs, to the counter tops and bedding. Awesome job, John Hughes. I'll pour a little eggnog out for you this holiday season.

25 Days of Christmas CoCo Style - Day 7: Not Your Average Tree

The Christmas decorating just isn't complete until the Christmas Tree has been put up and decorated with lights and baubles. It's always the last thing to go up at my house and there is a very strict rule that Christmas Vacation may not be watched until the tree is being decorated. It's a good rule to have. It makes the frustrating task less stressful.

The custom of the Christmas Tree developed in early modern Germany with predecessors that can be traced to the 16th and possibly the 15th century. It acquired popularity beyond Germany during the second half of the 19th century.
