CoCo T.V.: Halloween Edition

I know this is a creepy picture, but it's from
Halloween a few years back. I  DO NOT look
like this on an average day. Thank God!

If you're looking for some last minute Halloween tips, go to More Good Day Oregon and click on "Fun Spooky Decorations". I filmed this segment on 10/24, but you still have a few hours before the trick-or-treaters start coming around.

For some quick and easy tips for "Decorating for Fall", head over to AM Northwest and see my ideas on some fun, non-Halloween decor.

Take a Load Off

The options for seating are endless, no joke. Color, pattern, texture, style, material... I love that no matter how many pieces I see, I still get happily surprised at a new chair or bench that comes out. Here are a few of my favorites.

Kelly Wearstler
Oh, how I love you, Ms. Wearstler. I want to be just like you when I grow up.
Her designs are NEVER boring and always keeps the design community on it's toes.

Umm, where do I start? The name. Made of felt. The shape. Come on, this chair is fabulous!

Listen, anything that reminds me of  a Hypercolor t-shirt is a winner in my book. My only concern would be the butt print left behind.

Black and White, It's Not Just for Old Movies

Amoroso Design
Now, let's start this by saying I LOVE color. As in Cupid's Arrow, Love Potion #9, hearts floating around my head kind of love. With that said, I have always been drawn to the beautiful elegance of black and white combos. There is just something so classic and yet edgy about the perfect mix of black, white and possible a fabulous gold thrown in for good measure.

Be it interiors or fashion, I tend to believe black and white is much less scary for people. You feel safe with the neutrals and you can mix in absolutely any color and it looks fabulous.

Help Support "Rocking For Ashton"

Ashton is the 8 year old son of my friend, Sami. Sami and I have known each other for more years than I would like to say. Think back to LUHS Warrior days.

Ashton is severely autistic and cannot talk, read, write or communicate like most of us. He doesn't know who Santa or the Easter Bunny are. And he doesn't even know when it's his birthday. One fateful trip four years ago opened up Ashton's life for the better. His parents took him on a trip to Disneyland to meet Mickey Mouse. Without rhyme or reason, Ashton was able to communicate to his parents that he was ready to go by picking up his shoes and walking them to the door. Mickey Mouse was the answer they had been looking for. Unfortunately, due to the added responsibilities of caring for a severely Autistic child, Ashton and his family haven't been able to make another trip down in over four years. This is where Rocking For Ashton comes in.

What started out as just a little idea to help a deserving kid take a vacation has turned into an amazing charity event. Not only will proceeds benefit Ashton, but also Mighty Oaks Children's Therapy Center. From free shows by countless musical acts, silent auction, live auction and fundraising dinner, this 3 day event has something for everyone. Please look at Ashton's website and contribute to this very important cause.

If I Could Cover the World in Wallpaper, What a Peaceful Place It Would Be

Anna Spiro
Okay, let's start this off by saying wallpaper isn't scary. I always find it interesting to watch peoples' expressions when I say "wallpaper". I think that word instantly conjures up visions of dusty rose, forest green, country floral prints, hunting plaid and your Grandma's bathroom. However, that was the past and wallpaper options are numerous. Metallic, flocked, elegant, funky, romantic and endless pattern and color options.
So, what did we learn today?
1. Wallpaper is cool.
2. Paint isn't the only option for walls.
3. Don't be a baby. Try wallpaper.
